James Hyndes

James previously held senior roles as a Director of equity sales with the investment banks Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan and Macquarie Bank. He has experience in listing more than 100 companies across Asian and Australian equity markets and worked in South Korea, London, Hong Kong and Singapore. He has founded, funded and listed a number of companies 

Further, James' career includes significant experience as a research analyst covering a number of sectors including technology and consumer goods 

James is a graduate of the Australian National University with degrees in Bachelor of Arts (Asian Studies) and Bachelor of Economics. He also holds a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment. A Korean speaker, he has lived in Asia since 1995

Andrew Meakin 
Managing Director

Andrew has over 25 years' experience in retail and wholesale funds management; and private banking, including advisory, stockbroking and financial planning. Prior to his finance career, Andrew held a number of positions in the manufacturing and construction industries. Andrew has held positions as chief executive officer plus senior distribution and investment roles for a number of financial service providers, including Commonwealth Bank of Australia

Andrew was a non-e
xecutive director of Landmark White Limited, Australia's largest independent property valuation firm. Most recently he was part of the board that arranged the sale of Orchard Funds Limited to Morgan Stanley Real Estate. Andrew was involved in the acquisition of apartment assets in the US and in the establishment of financing and property management relationships with with a broad range of US real estate participants

Andrew holds a BA in Economics and Industrial Relations, Master of Management, MBA from Macquarie University and an Advanced Diploma of Financial Services. Andrew is a Fellow of the Australian Property Institute

Tim Staermose
Non-Executive Director

Tim has 21 years' experience in equity capital markets, and equity research. He has worked at international sell-side equity brokerage firms in South Korea, and Hong Kong, including Banque Indosuez, now part of Credit Agricole, in the late 1990s, and Lehman Brothers, in 2001-2002. 

Following his career in sell-side equity research, Tim has worked as an independent researcher and stock picker, for a series of private research firms. Today he manages investments and advises high net worth individuals and family offices on stock market investing all around the world. He also serves as Chief Investment Strategist for, a leading online subscription-based publication with over 150,000 readers in more than 100 countries

Ken Lawrence 
Non-Executive Director

Ken is an American citizen with more than 32 years’ experience in all aspects of commercial real estate finance, including debt, equity, structured finance and loan servicing 

Ken has founded four successful companies, the most notable of which are LMI Capital Inc and Ascension Commercial Real Estate LP. Under his direction, LMI Capital became a leading producer for multiple capital sources including insurance companies, commercial banks, agencies and investment banks. He remains Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer of Ascension Commercial Real Estate 

From a capital advisory and lending perspective, Ken has overseen and closed more than 980 transactions with a total value in excess of US$6 billion. From an investment perspective, he has been responsible for the acquisition of more than 8,800 units through 35 individual transactions in markets throughout Texas 

Ken holds a Bachelor of Arts, Finance/Economics with an Associates in Construction Management from the Oklahoma State University  

Shaun Stone
Chief Financial Officer

Shaun has over 20 years’ experience in the accounting and financial services industries, previously working with Barclays Bank and National Australia Bank in London UK as well as Tolhurst Group Ltd

Shaun’s experience at Tolhurst Group Ltd involved capital liquidity and management reporting as well as financial and options risk management responsibilities. His Senior Management position in Corporate Finance with the Tolhurst displays expertise in capital raisings with both listed and unlisted vehicles

In addition, Shaun having worked with NAB in the Operational Risk area has been responsible for implementing risk management systems and auditing processes. His background includes financial services and derivatives consulting with KPMG in the USA

Shaun holds a B.Bus, CA, CPA, Grad Dip Finance and an MBA from Georgetown University in the USA
